Re: Should we move SEMLA to the Summer?
To all the people arguing that summer is when you spend time with your wives/girlfriends: First of all, are your partners sitting around all year just waiting for you to have free time to spend with them? I suspect they, like most other women, make plans with friends and family that dont always inv...

Re: Glen Gardener - Spencer
My deepest condolences to Glens family. A tragic loss to them, to the spencer lacrosse club, and to past and present spencer players. When this happens it puts all of the bellyaching and whining we do daily into perspective. All lacrosse players in England are part of a small tightly knit community....

Maybe we should go back to that system? Instant communication and information may be too much for us to handle.
I'm not attacking semla chief, I'm just trying to discern how these scores are so off the mark.

Re: Results - Saturday 14 Jamuary 2012
Think those ela results are the ones for the same fixtures on the first day of the season! I thought welwyn beat hampstead but I might have heard wrong! They aren't even that...as an earlier post mentioned Bristol lost 22-0 their first game to spencer. I think they'd be keen to have the real score ...

Re: Results - Saturday 14 Jamuary 2012
Some serious discrepancies on the ELA results site to what's been posted here. I know only the selma results matter but how are the posted results there so off the mark? Here's what's shown on the site " SEMLA - Premier Divison Bristol Bombers 1 - 17 Spencer Cardiff Harlequins 5 - 5 Reading Wil...

Re: European Club Championships
Final standings were: 1st: Farsta (swedes) with 3 wins 2nd: Blues 2w 1L 3rd: hamburg 1w 2L 4th: UC Dublin 0w 3L It was a thoroughly enjoyable weekend that suffered in places for organisation and event timing. There was no playoff for final standings similar to last years tourney - only a round robin...

Re: European Club Championships
Thanks for the support gentlemen. I think I can speak for most of my club when I say we are going into this with a healthy respect for what the European clubs have accomplished and the quality they put out on the pitch. It should, at the very least, be a great weekend of lacrosse and I am grateful t...

Ian, get a life man. Seriously. The gleeful enjoyment you get out of this is pathetic. You've done too much for lacrosse in the South to make yourself look this foolish.

Re: LaxAllStars.com England Exhibition Game-Players Wanted
Now that we have moved on from the Vince Grimes public name-and-shame campaign I thought I'd post some 2nd half video highlights from the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jF96UVdNarA Note: 1) This was taken on an iPhone. 2) The fact that this footage is as shaky as it is but still remotely usabl...

Prob not the best idea as I bet there will be a bunch of people sign up with not much experience. Better to put a select team out and there might be a game to be had and not an ass kicking.
or if theyre all keepers
Hope they are all keepers. That'd be a fun match to watch.

Re: Defense training ?
There is a youngster at Welwyn who got called up for first team duty this year that plays close D with a shortie. When we first saw him our attackers immediately knew who we would be dodging on. Well the joke was on us. The kid held his ground and played some of the smartest defense I've seen. Becau...

Re: Mentality and Equipment
Ice hockey pucks are frozen and goalies regularly drop their knees quite forcefully to the ice to make saves. A shot to the shin or a knee to the ice will shatter bone. Field lax goalies wear minimal padding mostly because the "ideal" method of making saves in field lax is "catching&q...

Re: Game vs Hobart uni 4-5th June
So what happened with this then? Who went? What were the scores? So just getting back from one of the most fun lacrosse weekends I've had in a long time. Scores? Well, lets just say that they were one sided as would be expected with a group of Europeans playing a D1 team (24-3 in the sunday match, ...

Re: 2011 NCAA Coverage
A shot clock will do nothing to speed up the game. Assume a 60 second shot clock. What is to stop a team from stalling for 58 seconds, taking a possession shot (but close enough to make it seem legit), backing the shot up, stalling for 58 more seconds, and repeating? How is this any different from t...
