Super League Lacrosse
Given the recent attention paid by Tottenham Hotspurs to a perceived copyright infringement of their logo (apologies for using Daily Mail as my source): http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2507288/Tottenham-demand-non-league-minnows-remove-cockerel-logo-crest.html Should the ELA (and o...

Re: Stick Checks
Can you call a stick check in a golden goal situation ? Does the scoring of the goal finish the game so no chance of a stick check call. Therefore it is worth the risk to play with an illegal stick to win the game. 99% sure you can call this stick check. Otherwise it would be a complete oversight i...

Re: New teams for next season?
Aberystwyth to falmouth...ouch! Pretty much "anywhere that currently has a team in West 2" to Falmouth = ouch If the proposed switch to summer ever takes place, factor in the holiday traffic too; might not be so bad on an early December saturday, just the 5 and a half hours from Aber. Don...

Re: Hidden Ball trick
James - I was being rather in-exact with my language in saying "touch" a player but I would suggest that any defender who falls for a hidden ball trick but does not do enough to at least earn an interefence call is not doing his job properly on an attacker who he *thinks* is driving to goa...

Re: Hidden Ball trick
With the hidden ball trick, what rules must the D follow with regards to playing an opponent without the ball, surely if they thing the opponent has the ball they may go in for a hit, but outside of the 9 feet allowance. Touch a player without the ball and it's interference at best, moving up throu...

Re: Fouling out to discourage.
I was once involved in the fouling out of a player in the space of about 30 seconds, and that was at Bluesfest (you know, the fun tournament) Flagged for a slash; flagged for the back chat; flagged for the comment following the second flag; then the CBO flagged him for what he said about the ref (me...

Google isn't being my friend.
You can get a partial list from the semla website in years that the NEMLA team won either the Iroquois or the Wilkinson Sword (which to be fair is most years)

Technical foul each time; loose ball so possession only, however, persistent technical fouling can be construed as unsportsmanlike conduct (a time serving personal foul).

Re: Results Jan 19
Payson is going to find out about Westway at 8am tomorrow and thus whether Hampstead v Hitchin can take place. If Westway was fit and was available after Hampstead's game, another fixture could be played there? As I recall, during the snowfall last winter it was only Hampstead's pitch that survived...

Re: ATTENTION ALL SEMLA CLUBS
Spat over, then. Nothing has changed. Blues and EG missed games because Reading wouldn’t play. Job well done. BeeZee. It's also entirely feasible that one or both of these games would have been called off due to the pitch conditions down at the Ibis last weekend As it happens, the Club made a decis...

Re: Two questions from today's game
RULING: Legal play, as nothing in the rules requires a team to have ten men in the game at any time. IMHO, the above can't over-ride the requirement to maintain the offside rule. The ruling is surely intended to cover for the situation where the team is not offside at either end but for whatever re...

Re: Two questions from today's game
Also the ruling covers for the much more frequent situation where a player runs out over the sidelines while chasing an opponent. If the rules were that you 'had' to maintain ten on the field 'at all times' then each time someone ran out the team would be committing a foul which is clearly nonsense...

Re: Two questions from today's game
Scenario 1: correct call by official. The things which delay a restart are: relaying the call to the bench, picking up your flag(s), making sure one person of the correct team has the ball ready to start in the correct place and with no-one within 5 yards, relaying the number of that player to the g...

Re: acquiring Panel referees
If Aber, it would in theory be covered by SEMLA so your contact would be semla.referees[at]southlacrosse[dot]org[dot]uk (obviously replace the bits in brackets as required - the proliferation of spambot activity here means I don't want this address to be hyperlinked) There are two current Panel Refs...
